Relating to Home Rule Reform
The purpose of this bill is to prohibit municipalities participating in the Home Rule program from establishing additional protected classes of persons beyond what is designated in state statute.
2025 Regular Session
The municipalities participating in the Municipal Home Rule Program may not pass an ordinance, act, resolution, rule, or regulation under the provisions of this section that: [...] (4) That recognizes additional classes of persons entitled to protection in addition to those classes of persons recognized by existing state statutes, and any such existing ordinances are void and unforceable.
