Health-Care Provider Right to Exercise Conscience
Concerning protecting a health-care provider's right to exercise their conscience in providing health care.
2025 Regular Session
A health-care professional, health-care institution, or health-care payer shall not be required to participate in nor pay for any medical procedure, treatment, or service, or prescribe or pay for any medication to which they object on the basis of conscience, whether such conscience is informed by religious, moral, or ethical beliefs or principles.
"Discrimination" or "Discriminated against" means any adverse action taken against, or threat of adverse action communicated to, a health-care provider as a result of the health-care provider exercising their right protected in section 25-60-104.
